Created to Thrive provides developmental & behavioral evaluations that, while extremely comprehensive in scope, are specifically tailored to each child’s individual needs and concerns. We believe that every child has the potential to gain new developmental skills and abilities and to learn how to manage their behaviors effectively. Our extensive experience helping children who face a wide variety of developmental and behavioral challenges has shown us that change is possible, especially when a child receives the therapies and services that are most appropriate to meet their unique needs. Our goal is to provide an accurate assessment of each child’s individual developmental and behavioral strengths and weaknesses as this will inform the most appropriate treatment plan and will help ensure the most optimal progress and long-term outcomes. We also provide extensive parent guidance and education to help equip and empower parents to better advocate for their child’s needs, understand how they can support and encourage their child along their developmental journey, and strengthen their relationship with their child. Our desire is for each child, and his or her family, to receive the care, education, and support they need to be able to thrive.

Services We Provide

Our “whole-child” approach to care means that we, first and foremost, want to gather whatever information is needed to better understand YOUR child. As the parent /caregiver, YOU are the foremost expert on your child. As such, the information you provide - regarding your child’s medical, developmental, and behavioral history, as well as any observations you have made, or insight you may have - will all be essential to your child’s formal developmental and behavioral evaluation. In addition, it is oftentimes very helpful to gather information from other family members, as well as your child’s teachers, therapists, daycare providers and other service providers (if/when applicable).

Dr. Allen is a full time Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician who has more than a decade of experience serving children who have a variety of developmental and behavioral needs. Prior to starting her own practice, Created to Thrive, Dr. Allen worked as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and served as the only Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician (DBP) at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Woodlands, TX.

My family has had the pleasure of working with Dr. Allen for many years. In 2016, we were referred to her for evaluations as both of my children had speech delays. They were 3 year old twins at the time. My daughter had no formal diagnosis but I knew she was delayed. She was the first doctor that listened to me and diagnosed my daughter with cerebral palsy and got her referred to a geneticist that later diagnosed her with a rare genetic disorder. I’m confident we would have never got where we did without her advocacy. My son already had a genetic diagnosis but was later diagnosed with ADHD. Dr. Allen spent many years navigating the many different medications for my son to find the right match that worked for him. She also encouraged me to think out of the box and seek other resources that ended up greatly benefiting my son.
