Dr. Candice Allen

Dr. Allen is a full time Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician who has more than a decade of experience serving children who have a variety of developmental and behavioral needs. Prior to starting her own practice, Created to Thrive, Dr. Allen worked as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and served as the only Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician (DBP) at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Woodlands, TX.

A little more about Dr. Allen

Dr. Allen completed her Fellowship in Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO (2013-2016). During her fellowship training, Dr. Allen participated in multidisciplinary patient assessments and served in numerous multi-specialty clinics as well. Prior to completing Fellowship, Dr. Allen completed her General Pediatric Residency and Internship training at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX (2010–2013).

Dr. Allen earned her medical degree (M.D.) from Texas Tech Medical School in 2010. Dr. Allen is an active member of the Society for Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) and has hosted workshops for their annual meetings. Dr. Allen is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Allen has also hosted lectures at the local, state, national and international levels for specialty and sub-specialty medical groups as well as community organizations.

Dr. Allen has been an incredible source of care and knowledge from day 1! Being a first-time mom, she has not just treated my baby girl with the most incredible care but she has also educated us along the way. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Candice Allen for seven years.  Her approach to developmental pediatric assessments is family-centered as well as individualized to each child, as she spends an extended amount of time to assess the whole child in order to make differential diagnoses and functional treatment recommendations.
